About Me
I've always liked a good story. At best, I hope my words and pictures can do just that, tell a story. You may have noticed that I have trouble deciding what to call myself. Illustrator/Author/Designer? I know it's a lot for a business card but I've had the good fortune to be interested in lots of different things. When you create a story you can be all of those things. I like to think that I build story-worlds like an architect by putting lots of little things together. A funny incident, a drawing of a character, an idea from long ago. Then I put on the magician's hat to try and transform it into something interesting. I believe that there is magic left in the world but you have to stop to notice it.

Brian Yanish has been a professional illustrator for over eight years. He began his training drawing monsters in kindergarten in Pittsford, New York. He has worked for Jim Henson Productions in Los Angeles, trained as a special effects moldmaker, has written and performed comedy, designed educational CD-ROMs in Austin, TX and sold his own line of T-shirts. He currently lives in New York City where he designs home decor and accessories for kids and is working as author/illustrator on several book projects for children.
